I've seen a few movies recorded with something simular. Quite a bit of motion if your head isn't still ;) :outtahere:

From TX. That thing is actually drilled and tapped into the brim of my Car Craft cap.

I have my first HatCAM video edited, and uploading to YouTube, and will be available soon. I will edit this post and show it.

The reason I did this is I was fumbling with the shifter, steering wheel and camera and was making myself a danger to society.

I am too cheap to hook up a laptop to my A/F gauge, and I wanted to watch the A/F gauge and tach simultaneously, while keeping my hands free. I just got a free cap from Car Craft, and the brim is really stiff, so I drilled a hole in it and mounted the camera with the hardware from my tripod.

So, now I can see how rich the car is running at idle, cruising, and when I stomp the pedal and kick the secondaries in, and everywhere else in between.

I just have to wait til I get home and upload it to the computer to "analyze" the A/F compared to what is going on with the carb. I narrate periodically to tell myself what I just did. Just in case I can't see the 6500 tach reading due to poor aiming of the camera.

Hey your worthy enough for a 1000th post, you keep things interesting in here.

Hat cam works pretty good, no bobble head movement even when you grabbed second gear. Might have to find another spot for it to watch the gauges though.

Wish you could be around and get some video when the Bookmobile gets loaded but I dont know when that will be and you are quite a few miles away

I will gladly video the loading of the Book-mobile. Just let me know when it will happen and I will be there, No hat, just cam so not so much back and forth and Bobble-head.

I tried to keep my head still, even when, especially when, I drove past those cute girls in the neighborhood, but that is only on the long version, not the YouTube version.

I was afraid it would be hard to read those gauges, so I dictated throughout the ride what was going on when I could.

If I get serious, I may need to fix the camera so it faces the gauges and gets focused on them. When I take my eyes off the road and put them to the gauges, it takes about 2-3 seconds for the camera to focus in, but at 82 mph I don't want to take my eyes off the road for that long...

EDIT--On the original version on my computer, the gauges are clear, most of the time. It was lost in the downsizing and loss of quality it took to get it posted to youtube. So I can still use this to evaluate where my A/F is when my carb is performing it's various functions.

Oh, yeah, my wife told me that driving past the high school with a camera strapped to my head may get the cops called on me, so if I get pulled over, that hat and cam are going under the seat. You will only be able to HEAR what is going on...:D
