just need a little knowledge on a EFI system. I have a fuel rail, the intake, and a large aluminum air intake. besides a spark control module, what else do i need? whom ever should respond to this question, please explain it to me like im a 3 yr old. you wont hurt my feelings. i just want to make sure i have the info correct. so when the time comes to go shopping at the bone yard, i know what im looking for or asking for! Thank you in advance for any help given. Rick
What intake are you running? If it's the 5.0 H.O. (Mustang, T-Bird) Summit has a harness kit that has the sensors included. After that you'd need a fuel pump and computer. I would have recommended Ford Fuel-injection but they got spanked by Ford for copyright infringement and their site is not up anymore.
you can get almost everything you need for an efi swap off of a fox body mustang... you will need computer, harness, intake, fuel rails, run new lines for the fuel rails (feed and return), fuel pump(airtex E2000 is a good candidate), all sensors, maf (if you decide to do mass air instead of speed density) which i recommend if your not big on tuning it, and lots and lots of patience and research... changing the cam would be a good idea too because the fox computers run off a 351w timing order easy way out is to get all the stuff listed above and get a painless harness for a 5.0 swap or do an aftermarket style efi system to go onto a carbed intake... you will be happy with the results from either of these if swapped correctly... lots of info to be had on the 5.0 efi swap... just google it if you have any questions good luck to you
If you rape a donor car be prepared to rip into this... just to get this.... A wiring diagram for the donor car is a must have.
It just about did stop me! I'm stubborn though and have a budget goal for the car so I'll plow through this mess and make it work.
I spoke w/Ryan who is a member here. He wrote out all the things i would need in a shopping list order. After 30 seconds of consideration. Im sure im going carb. I must say the pictures of that wire mess, "STOPPED ME IN MY TRACKS" thanks to all who helped, Rick
I tried (unsuccessfully) to find the pics of my conversion. Ironically, it looks just like the above picture. The parts aren't hard to come by but cutting and lengthening the wiring is a tedious job. I like the EFI system that Chris(GrabberGT) did on his.
