I am trying to do the bumper conversion on my 74 comet and I can't seem to find an original bumper.
Does anyone know of a company that is reproducing them?

no company is reproducing them.. Jimmy is going to reproduce them for a maverick but not a comet so you could get a back bumper to work. I have a front aand back bumper for you i have some that need straightening and some straight ones.

Thanks for the quick response. Just a few quick questions:
1 Can't the 71 and 72 mav bumpers fit on the comet?
2 if so, is jimmy producing those?
3 How much would the bumpers cost and what would that include, i.e. valance panels, brackets, etc...? I'm really only looking for daily driver condition.

oh, and just to be clear, those bumpers are the small bumpers that were on the 71 and 72, right?
Also, i'm pretty sure that i would need a straightened out one, unless the ones that need to be straightened out ones would still look nice.

Only way to use a early small Mav bumper on a Comet is to also swap the grill, gravel pan, and hood. The Comet grill, bumper, and hood protude more in the center. After the swap, you then have a Comrick, or is that a Mavmet?:rofl2:

hey i resent that....I've god a mavmet in the driveway. It definitely has an identity crisis. I just picked up a 74 grill today at the local u-pick and I'm trying to mount the comet emblem on instead of the red-backed mav emblem.

    :)
