    is it possible to clearcoat basic acrylic enamel primer? I think that'd be kinda neat on my Mustang.

    I know, crazy idea. Just curious though.

    Yeah, you can clearcoat most any paint, I have messed around doing it. It will make your primer shiny!

    You can also add a flattening agent in the clear to take some of the shine out.

    it will look like the color "dove gray" paint.(late 70s) ...frank...

    thats kind of what I was thinking, Frank. I think it's be kinda neat on that car....I mean, we all see flashy shiny $10,000 finishes on drag mustangs, but I think plain ol dove gray primer clearcoated would be kinda cool. That and a flat black engine block, flat black valve covers, intake, everything....

    Have you guys ever seen a Yamaha Road Warrior? That's what I was kind of leaning towards. Black everything (except wheels)

    I've seen a chevy car done that way once, looked pretty good.

    Nope, didn't take pics of the car... wasn't worth my time..
    Piece of crap car. Good looking "paint" but ran terrible and had ugly wheels on it.

    Yeah, I don't think I'd waste good money for a paint on a Chevy either.:biglaugh:
