This car was defiantly repainted but the more I tear into the more purple I see. Is this really a factory color?

If its not original, someone went to a lot of trouble to make it purple. At one time, I heard you could order any color you wanted. Post the paint code, I'm sure it can be decoded.

That's the 3rd Purple Maverick I've seen. Looks factory to me.
Would be interesting to see a Marti Report on it, can't be very common. Looks like it also had a Halo top, Neat!!

My money is on it's factory.. Seen a couple also and it looks the right shade. If I had a purple one I would keep the color.

this car is shot, rust holes through the roof, no evidance of there ever being a torque boxes in it, motor locked up and no title. I bought it for the nice clean black dash, factory AC, the bumpers and brackets.

If anybody needs anything, let me know.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
The pin stripe is another tell tell sign if its been repainted before. As most,if not all, wouldn't bother putting it back on after a respray.

Mine had the same one that has :)

You could order any color you wanted at an extra cost, if it was in the Ford color chart.
There are 2 other know, factory Purple Mavericks on this board.
It could have been for a special promotion, or for someone that really wanted purple.
This is the only purple 73 I've seen.
