So here is what I have Engine- 331 Stroker -compression approx 9.75 Cylinder heads- Pro-maxx Max 175- 60cc- 2.020 intake-1.600exh-intake port volume 175cc-flow 266@600 lift Intake- Edelbrock Performer RPM Carb-Quick Fuel-HR 680VS Cam-Comp Cam Magnum 290HR-Retro Fit-Duration 290-Duration @.050" lift 230-Valve lift I & E .544 lobe separation 110*- intake center line 106* 180* T-stat, champion 3 row radiator, electric puller fan, fan on at 185* MSD ready to run dist and coil Timing at 16*-18* Headman headers-88300-1 5/8" tube-3" collector ceramic coated 2 1/2" exhaust with H pipe Thrush chamber mufflers Torque converter 10"-stall 2800-3200 rpm Trans rebuilt with shift kit Rear end 3.55 traction lock Rear tires 255/60-27" tall All new about 450 miles on this combo-engine runs at about 200-205* on a 80* day but the under hood temps seem to high. Open the hood and its like a blast furnace, hood prop almost to hot to handle don't even get near the top of the radiator instant burn. Also hard to restart if it sets for just a couple of minutes (cranks over find) fuel-heat soak? I also have an isolater under carb. Today after a short 40 mile drive parked it for about 10 minutes got in it backed up then went forward and it seemed like it was dragging so I stopped then tried to take off and the front brakes were locked up rears were OK, master cylinder and line lock very warm. Took my temp gun and they were at 147*. I was able to break line loose at t-fitting for frt brakes and it freed up the front brakes . So now I wonder if this is also heat related. So any ideas ??? Thanks all in advance
I run the Taurus fan with a Dakota Digital controller that allows the fan to run a couple of minutes after shut down. Micah
Your CFM is almost half of what you need to cool a stock V8. 1610 cfm will cool a stock 4 cyl and will have problem cooling a 6 cyl
Thats what I was thinking also. I might be running out to Summit to get another fan looking at a 2400 cfm. Thanks
The Taurus fan is awesome and cheap. No problems with my AC equipped 347 in northern Nevada. I can feel it blowing hot air from the rear of the car. I believe they are rated at 2,000 CFM. Micah
