Is this hood repairable?

    If so what is the best technique. He said hood was leaned against garage and leaves gathered around the bottom. [​IMG]

    i think those areas are flat right? if so it wouldnt be that had to replace with patches just would have to be very careful with heat control not to warp the hood

    depends on if you are doing the work or if you are having to pay someone to do it...:yup:


    leaves may have played a part in the rusting but water sitting behind the brace on the underside is what caused it to rust from the inside out...

    Me and friend at work, we have mig and tig welders at shop so won't cost anything far as labor goes.

    The best way to repair that (IMO) would be to get another hood and cut from it, the entire rear section, then go from there. It can be done, kinda the way I did the front of my hood. more_mav_pics_10-09_017_original.jpg more_mav_pics_10-09_029_original.jpg

    knee is great...wanting to go to the swap meet this weekend but i think i will waite untill after i get my staples out before i do a lot of walking...:yup:

    Looks like you can see through the hood in places so I bet it's just as bad.

    I've got a pile of Grabber hoods, one of them is too far gone to ever be worth fixing, but it's fine in that area as far as I can remember. Will take a look this weekend. Y'all could probably use it to patch that one up.
