Which I know is a really really bad idea......:slap: But I recently saw where Edelbrock has an intake manifold for the 4.6 mod motor for use with a Carb. I know these engines are wide, but exactly how wide are they? Too wide to fit into a Maverick without cutting? The plugs are on top and the exhaust is tucked up pretty tight, so is it even possible do you think?? I have a smooth running 4.6 in my sister's wrecked '95 T-Bird that's just sitting there........and the car's just sitting there.......am I in trouble?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll!!! Preston:huh: :bananaman

They are really big. I have an all aluminum 4.6 DOHC from a MarkVIII waiting to go into my 2 door but I will have a tube frame front end and motor plate to make sure there is adequate room. I think you could get a great running windsor (302) motor that will easily make the power of a stock SOHC 4.6 for a lot less $$$$ than modifying the car to fit a big engine like that into. JMO.

Wow! I knew the mod motors were wide but the overall size and weight is unreal.

Yeah, you'd be better off with a 460 with aluminum heads. :D

That 4.6L is wider across the top than a 460. Guess which one makes more power for less money?

Well, that solves that!! Thanks for the info ya'll. I never really paid attention to the size of the 4.6 in the car, because it now sits at her boyfriend's house. It was just a thought.......but it woulda been kinda cool. Anyway, thanks again!! Preston

By the way, that thing sure is big (dimensionally) for not putting out any more cubes than it does. I think Ford should have stuck with the 5.0. Great motors. Preston
