    Hello all,

I've got a very well preserved '76 Maverick, so I put it away for the winter (I live in Northern Ontario, Canada: lots of snow and salt here) to further preserve it. I took the battery out when putting it away, but I forgot to check which wire connected to which terminal. I figure this is important, considering the flow of current. If anyone could help me, I would be very appreciative.

    Thank you,
    Liam McDermott

    They should be color coded

Red is positive, black is negative

If they arent color coded then look for a wire that goes from your engine block. That is the negative.

The other should be positive and be shorter. It should go to a solenoid on the fenderwell

Thank you very much. Mine aren't colour coded, but I can see now which wire is which.

Pos is the larger of the 2 terminals.

Yes, it should be but not always the case...

Some people think a terminal is a terminal and when replacing just the terminal they just grab one and make it work.
