After biding my time waiting for what I thought was the right car I found it, it was posted in the For Sale Forum..http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=181872#post181872 I went to pick it up today in Charlotte. Katie goes to take her test for a permit Wednesday and I'm going to give it to her then, ( She doesn't know I have it:evilsmile ) It's a 69.5, auto, aftermarket air, straight and solid, lotsa dust but no rust. Regie description of the car was dead on, starts effortlessly and runs straight and smooth. I started cleaning it up when I got home ( that's right Rick Book)...I just couldn't stand it . The paint is heavily oxidated, I carefully wet sanded the drivers rear quarter and buffed it out, came out ok. I really like the color although it looks blue it's more of an Aquamarine....here are a few pics
Nothing like being raised around Mavericks! What a nice find for Katie to drive, Rick. I think she'll love it!
I'm glad it was you (or one of us from the board) that got it! Major Grats! (and I feel a lot better now that it's cleaner )
Hey Rick Congrats on the car. I really wanted that car but just couldnt swing it right at this time . Im so glad that someone got it that will appreciate it like it deserves. Hope Katie loves it and treats it with the respect it deserves because its a "Survivor" Later Tim
Congrats, Rick! I really had my eye on it also. Just no way I could afford it right now. Definately a nice car!
Very clean car. I'm assuming Katie is your daughter. That's great that you have a teenager that isn't embarrassed to drive an old Maverick. Hope my daughter is the same way in 9 years. You going to let her drive the drag Comet?
congrats to katie i'm sure she will love it. i got a 69.5 for my daughters first car. as soon as she gets her licence she can drive it.
nice car for Katie. i think she will like it...frank... p.s. chris was to have a '71 mav. but it didn't work out.
nice car....congrats Katie. Now lets hope she drives it better than the go-karts at the Round-up Just kidding
Nice car .... my buddies teenage daughter got in 3 accidents within 6 months of getting her license ... no way a teenager would be driving one of my Mavericks ... Lucky for him it was a late model Acura and $8000 later it's looking as good as new! Good luck ...
Rick, That's awesome. Glad your daughter is into mavericks. What is she about 15?? I was that age when I got mine. Have fun
