Picked up a maverick from terry=Hawkco meeting place was somewhere around Knoxville,Tn chuck=inline6 and I loaded the up left Ohio at 730am should of took around 6hrs all going good ......terry calls still trying to get the left rear wheel free so he can get it loaded on his trailer ... he calls back got it freed up. ...5 hrs later going into TN they closed I75south its a parking lot took 3 1/2 hrs to get through the detour and back to I75 south..Met up with Terry and his dad great people loaded the car from his trailer to mine
Thats the "Brakes" in the car hobby Glad it all worked out. I meet up with Grey Beard today and we spied out 3 disc brake swaps for mavs. Always good to have a spare set of disc brakes to swap just in case that next mav you just got to have needs them
well got it off the trailer .....me and chuck=inline6 played with it a little cleaned out the carb .replaced the fuel filter..he found 3 plug wires off put them on ...we set the timeing..adjusted the carb still has a little shake to it but runs good.. ........have to watch chuck he likes to flame broil stuff ..had a great weekend
It was good meeting Chuch and Dave. They are great guys. Very respectful guys, too. They let my Dad talk...and talk. Dave, I forgot to check those plug wires yesterday in Knoxville. There are two on the right bank and one on the left bank that do not like to stay on. I'm glad you guys had a better time going home than coming to Knoxville.
Dad and I stopped at truck stop in north GA, about 2 hours from where we met with Chuck and Dave. They had the Chattanooga news on the TV. I saw a story on the I-75 closing. They had a "slope slide" earlier in the week and when they started making repairs, they found it had affected about 30 miles of I-75. They were not sure how long that section was going to be closed. Bummer.
it was great talking with your dad and you did not seem like enough time ......we was to busy eating to talk
it would of not stayed running the fuel filter was pluged and there was junk in the bottom of the carb looked liked came out of the filter
That means that the tank is full of junk. I changed the filter on that carb. That explains why it ran great Friday evening, was a little harder to get and keep running yesterday morning, even harder when we loaded the car at Noon, and why it wouldn't run at all in Knoxville.
great trip to tennessee, but that stop and go traffic is a killer!!first time there and we got to take the scenic route!lucky we was there after the slide and not during.had a good time meeting terry and his dad.great guys terry tell your dad he's a riot! dave, another minute and we could have thrown some steaks,on it!
I wished I knew you were meeting here. They (TDOT) is paving the median so that traffic can cross instead of going on 25w so next week the detour wont be as long.
I wish I had known you were coming to Knoxville. I would have came down and hooked up with you guys. Tim Keck had mentioned earlier that you were going to be there but I did not know the date.
