This may fall into the stupid question(s) category, but I just wanted to check...

I've got a late-model (late 80's-early 90's) 5.0 roller motor that was converted from EFI to carb with a Ford performance aluminum manifold.

If the manifold was made for a late-model, will it work on an early model ('71) motor?

Basically just wanting to know if there's any intake bolt pattern/angle or significant port size/shape differences between early and later model 302's.

Also, I've heard some people talk down roller motors....are they more problematic and/or more maintenance than non-roller 5.0's?

They are the same bolt patterns, and roller motors are nicer, less worry.

You need to talk with someone that has a clue, for the average street engine they are better than non roller... If really beat on them with boost/nitrous and high RPMs the block/crank may bust 50Hp/500RPM sooner than one of the ancient non roller blocks with 28oz crank...
