I know this may sound stupid.. I recently changed the oil and filter flushed out the engine too with Gunk Motor Flush, ok put everything back together new oil in, new filter, everything seemed to work fine noticed a small leak coming from the plug however I tightened it more still leaky, not a steady continuous leak but still a concern. I used a new Drain Plug Gasket guy at Kragen said the nylon ones work best, well either he's wrong or my plug is faulty I dunno. The Chilton Manual i've been using doesn't cover anything on Oil Changes let alone the torque specs for the Drain Plug if anyone knows them i'd appreciate it, I don't wanna overtighten it cause we all know the conseqences of that :).

My 72 shop manual calls for 15 - 25 ft lbs on the oil pan drain plug (6 cyl or 302 v-8). Tom

I had the same problem. I used a small amout of teflon tape on the plug and it worked great.
