i tried the top ones. put them in my truck and the grabber and they would not work, so i took them back. someone modded semi truck light led sets to fit in a comet tail light and it turned out pretty nice. those require some wire modding but that seems to be the answer. Im thinking about doing something similar to that for my pickup and the comet. may be dependant on what type of LED assemblies i find in the junkyard....

Looks like Jeff's Falcon lights light up in four places on the outside, with a "hot" spot lit up in the center. That's the problem with LED's, the light is directional. We have some new trailers with the LED's, the tail lights light up in a kinda snowflake pattern, not filled in like a normal bulb will do. Even if you had a custom LED strip light made for a Maverick, it would still look like you had a row of tiny lights.....

I thought you were going for the rows of dots look. for brighter lights, upgraded bulbs like frank suggested will make you MUCH happier.... Also take the tail light lenses off and scrub them, because years of dust doesnt look that bad until you clean them and see just how bad it was. Also make sure your ground points are all super cleaned of any rust. old style bulbs really show any current loss. i actually upgraded the lights on my 73 truck to have a "ground cable" with the newer plastic\sealed tail light assembly and put the same bulbs back in. night and day difference!

when my new wireing harness was installed, i bought some new sockets for the rear lights that had a...grounding spade.. on each socket. they were wired to a grounding stud. now the socket doesn't depend on it being secure in the tail light to get a ground...(y)
