There is a company in California I think..sells stainless steel body bolts for bumpers etc that have a led light in the top, red, amber or white . I wonder if you smoothed over the side marker lights and inserted one of those bolts in how would it look. Anybody heard of this? I saw it on a shade tree mechanic tv show on cable...Jim Visibolt.com thats it.
jim, jim, jim, or maybe...make an alum. plate to replace the lens and mount two or three lights in it.. or etc. etc. it sounds like a good... "ideaer"...frank... p.s. i think i will try it on one of the lights in this old junk '73 i just bought. maybe not...just looked at the prices...
bolts Craig had to go say the R word:16suspect . the show I saw they put then in the bumper of about a 39 ford.looked pretty clean. but yeah it could be kinda uncle bendish... Frank...they ain't cheap are they, lol
Jim I'm picturing these on the bumpers and Craig is right, a little ricey and as a side marker they remind me of the late 60's Mopoop...er Mopar cars that had the small round side markers, which is not a bad look IMO.
boltlights Oh I would never put them in my bumpers but I was thinkin on the side marker lights...is there a law that you must have side marker lights at all?
Feds mandated reflectors or lights starting in '68. I don't know if the light part became law later. I guess a safety inspection or registration inspection would catch it. Early '67 Shelby cars had a red round light about the size of a quarter in the back of the rear pillar side scoop. That was dropped due to complaints and federal threats. Seth Seth
I'd have to see one before I judge it. I plan on getting rid of the grill lights on my Comet GT so I'm looking at alternative ways to replace them. If they were bright enough, I could use something like that on the front of the bumper where it would be facing down and not noticable. But when lighted, would kinda illuminate the underside of the outer edges of the bumper.
Dennis, they sell them in Ocean City at the cruise in a couple of weeks. There is a vendor at the inlet parking lot that has them. It is not a ricer thing, it is a streetrod thing.
lights There is another company...can think right now that sells head lights that have the signal light in the same housing as the head light, thus getting rid of the grill lights. They are said to work well. I'll have to try and find that link...like 25 bucks each headlight.
