It's a solenoid that keeps line pressure after you have released the brake pedal. Works off a momentary switch. I would roll through the water box, push the brake then hold the line loc switch. (Mine was mounted on the shifter) that release the brake pedal. The line loc will keep the front brakes tight. That allows for a good burnout cause the rear brakes are released. Easy to install. Solenoid mounts inline with your front brake lines. 1 hot and ground.
I have a coiled cord (like a phone cord), that plugs into the line-lock wires under the dash and connects to a trunk release button that snaps into the hole in the left spoke of my sport steering wheel. It installs in less than a minute when I go to the track.
this is a little much I know but its fun!! http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/misc.php?do=downloadfile&i=2465
really what i wanted to know was what brand you use.sorry for the confusion i know how they work thanks john
I've used both a Hurst, and a Jeg's brand line loc...both worked fine with no issues. The Jeg's was a lot cheaper.
Ok you confused me too. I kind of figured you should know how it works. So what your asking is what brand and how well does it work??
what i need is something to help hold me in the water box better and that means a line lock but i dont know which one to buy. john
I did have a issue with Summit brand, may have been a fluke, I'm quite happy with my Biondo line lock, # SBR-LL $39.88 at summit, ships today! PS. it's 7 cents cheaper over Summit brand!
