I decided to educate myself on some of the stuff Ford added to engines when they had to add a bunch of emissions stuff to them. I've also read that a lot of people have gotten rid of this stuff. Those articles however were dealing with v8s and I have a inline 6 in my car. Anyone know of a list of emissions stuff for sixes on the net that I can use to browse what I can get rid of?

I'm pretty sure that can looking thing in front of the passenger firewall can go but I want to see what else can get the boot from my car.

That thing on the firewall is the most useful piece of emissions crap since it keeps fuel vapors from collecting under the hood during hot temperatures. From personal experience, I wouldn't get rid of it unless you use a vented gas cap and cap the line from the tank to the canister.

Same goes for the six as the V8. They both had the same emission stuff.
