Just a quick question about location of tire pressure decal on the pass. door jam. Anyone have original and if so how far down from lock post and how far from side to side is the decal?
    Thanks!

I just went out and looked on my Green car, and I guess I never put one back on after it was painted....and both the Brown & White cars are too close to the wall to open the passenger side doors. I know I have it on a disc some where, but I'm sure Craig will post it by the time I find it.

I measured 5/8" down from the striker.

You have to consider...as these cars were rolling down the line...the stickers were just slapped on. So just get it close.

I chuckled when I read this thread, as they did just get stuck on any place in that area while going down the line.

As a side note, my '70 had both the tire pressure sticker and the VIN sticker stuck on the drivers side. It was a bit crowded over there and it makes me wonder if the worker that day just got lazy (or rushed). I have no idea if that is the way other late '70 cars are, but my owners manual (5th edition, 4/70) does say to look at the right (passenger) side for the pressure decal.

    I say lazy line worker ...... :)

Well I assumed that they were just slapped on, but thought if I asked a bunch of you would chime in with close measurements! lol Thanks all. NOW to find a air cleaner sticker for the 302 2V that is correct. The one from Auto Krafters and CJPony Parts are the same repo but the arc in the decal is too tight to fit right where the original went--goes into the inner depressed area on the lid instead of staying on the flat top surface. So, not sure there is a replacement to fit it correctly. Any ideas let me know.

he would have had to walk to the other side of the car to get the sticker to put it on the wrong side...that would be a long walk being it was on the assy. line...:yup:

As a side note....I have found the sticker "backing" in cars I have parted out...under the carpet. It was a two piece backing that had big black letters that said MAVERICK.

Is it possible to get repro door jamb, under hood, and trunk stickers? I took close up digital pictures of mine hoping to get them made into stickers.

Jim Orborn makes some absolutely wonderful repops - it is what the whole car world uses. Has just about 95% of every sticker for a Maverick.

It seems over the years a lot of people have made that assumption.

Fact: Grabbers were introduced late in the 1970 Model year. I am keeper of the 1970 Ford Maverick Grabber Registry and more information can be found on my website.

Fact: MOST Grabbers were 6 cyl cars. A 302 was an OPTION in a Grabber, just like it was an OPTION in any other Maverick.

Fact: Grabbers were not a performance or speed package in ANY way. Strictly a stripe and appearance package.
