Have been reading over these forums for a long time, but never joined. Have had a love affair with Mavericks for years. Grew up with mom driving us around in a '70 Canadian model with the ignition in the package tray. I took my drivers test in that car, three on the tree made it fun. The 170 six barely had enough power to get out of it's own way but was still a cool looking car. I bought myself a '74 Comet GT at age of 16 and went nuts with it. Put a 347 stroker with a built C4 trans in and had fun. Little too much fun one night, young alcohol fueled fun caused the car to be sidelined in the barn for the last 20 years or so. Now working on a full rebuild of the car since I am a bit more responsible. Have built a 427 SB and have it on a stand, slowly as time and money allow I will build the car for the engine. Also the '70 my parents had is in my Dad's shop being restored also
...:Handshake nice story.. 427..."more responsible"... when my Son (17) became..."more responsible" I gave him my '02 V6 S-10... he came home one day with a ticket for..."laying 200' of dag"... for some reason I was more impressed than mad... Frank
Welcome from Texas!!! Sounds like a nice plan you have there. So what does this mean... Never hear the term dag.
Welcome from Va,good luck w/ your build.Actually I`ve had some good luck w/ Mopars, just bought an 02 Dodge 2500 diesel 5 spd to tow my Mav with.Gets 25mpg on the hwy, probably 18 towing 5000lbs,Chevy & Ford don`t have anything that will touch that.
Cool story and welcome to the forum. As Craig said you should come out to Carlisle in June. We will be having a Maverick/Comet Regional Meet there.
