Hi, I have always admired the Grabbers but never owned a Maverick, have always been a Mustang guy.
I would love to own a stock 74 or 75 Grabber, either Blue with White graphics or White with blue, bucket seats, factory 302 3-speed car (preferably on the floor). I'd really like to find one that wasn't transplanted, but how hard is it to find one like I want? Or should I bite the bullet and get a bench seat 6 cyl auto in the color scheme I'm looking for?

    Thanks.
    Todd

If you are not in a hurry and have a decent budget then your quest is reachable, dont settle for less than you wanted because as soon as you do one will come along. You will probably have to broaden your search to farther away than being able to see it in person. If you find what you are seeking and it is too far away to look at in person just ask for someone to take a look at it for you, there are members in every state that now what to look for.

You may have to settle for one that is not your color scheme but they can always be painted. 75 Grabbers are the rarest of all Grabbers with fewer made than any other year.

Good luck with your search and I will keep an eye out for you

Here is a '74 like you are looking for. Blue with white graphics and a 302 with a 3 speed in the floor, though it doesn't have bucket seats.

It was on Ebay about 2 1/2 months ago. IIRC it was bid to around $2,500 and didn't meet reserve. It was never relisted. You might be able to contact the seller even though the auction has ended. It was all the way across the country in Washington state though.

Why a '74 or '75 and why would you want it stock?

74 and 75 (especially) are the lowest production numbers for Grabbers (23,502 and 8,473 respectively), so you may find it hard to find one. @mean_maverick had a blue 75, but I'm not sure if he has parted it all out or not. It seemed quite rusty.

Not to be a smarta$$, as everyone knows I am about as 'purist' as it comes, but with big bumpers, no spoiler and a flat hood, have you considered cloning a 74+ Maverick as a Grabber? It may be a cheaper and less-rusty option in the long run...

As far as "shopping" goes, you could check out the VIN List for 74 and 75 and click on any of the links for the VINs with "93" in them that also have an EB# for e-Bay or a (web) designation usually containing a Craigslist Ad link...

I think the blue with white looks really nice on these cars! Good Luck!!

You beat me to it alaskamaverick, I was just about to list it for him. Looks like it would need quite a bit of work from description and cost around $1,500 to $2,000 to ship it.

A good deal just for the running gear for someone local, wife says I cant have it but if it was just a little closer it would be in my driveway as I want a 4 speed or 5 speed Maverick again
