I recently bought a 74 Maverick. After checking the compression pressures the first two were 0's, and the third was barley a 40. Does this mean I need to do an engine swap? It is a v6 and it turns over but does not start.
You mean a V8. Either do a swap or overhaul the engine you have. You got bad head gaskets and rings. It's worth rebuilding.
Would you happen to know where I could get it rebuilt for a fair price? I live in Southern California.
Northern Auto Parts. You have to know what year, which engine. Then you will need to know what size pistons, .020, .030 etc... Good luck
this could mean you have some stuck valves. I had one in a 250 mav I bought. I pulled the valve cover and tapped them all with a mallet (hammer). it broke loose and I went to driving...
