luggage rack?

i was looking through the '08 autokrafters book tonight and on pg 19 there is a diagram of the exterior vinyl top material they sell and right next to it is a small black and white pic of a 4 door big bumper mav with a chrome luggage rack on the trunk. Ive never seen one of those on a mav/comet before in person or across the hundreds of diffrent maverick pics ive seen on the web. any ideas?

 

It was a factory option for the later years.

 

Hey Bruce Phillips had one on his Comet but he left it off when he painted it. It was the Big bumper Comet at the round-up.

I learned two things in this short, but informative post:

1) They made 4-door Comets.
2) They made luggage racks for 4-door Comets.

That, or I knew the information at one time, and somewhere along the way, I forgot I knew it!

I've seen a coupla different pictures of luggage racks on these cars.....definitely not for me. JMO Just like mustangs with racks.....again, not for me. Preston

 

yea cant say that i want one on my car but definatly not something i see to much

 

i thought that was a high starting bid ($100)for a luggage rack, but i see the rest of the car comes with it.
