I know there are folks that specialize in bumper work. Both bumpers on my Mav are, well.....ailing. They'd rusted somewhere along the line, and then faux-crome painted, which is now peeling and reminds me of an aluminum christmas tree. To add insult to injury, they're both pretty lumpy. They aren't straight, and the front has a nice pucker in it.

Eventually, with the paint job I have in mind, Id be replacing the bumpers with fiberglass ones (since they'll be painted anyways). But Im wondering, with bumpers in this condition, would anyone have use for them or should I use them to line my garden beds? ;)

Most bent bumpers can look like new again. Bumper shops do it all the time.

No, no,...I totally get that. I was more curious if they would be worth trying to sell? Like I said, Im not going to use them long term, but I think selling them, if they are too far gone, is a little shady....and would probably make the buyer feel like commiting acts of violence! ;-)

Someone could use them as a core or restore them since these are not reproduced like for other classics. Either sell them for a fair price or donate them to me...I'll pay the shipping. lol

I'll stick them on Craigslist....see if I get any bites. Though I haven't got any idea what to ask.

socalcomet - if no bites by Christmas, they're all yours for the cost of shipping. Don't let me forget. :)
