I was talking to Fred (fmc56) last week about installing a new vinyl top on the 4 door. I spent all weekend scraping off the old glue and sanding everything down. Then I primed and painted the roof. Well, as luck would have it, Fred was heading down my way today to pick up another Econoline. With very little persuasion, Fred swung on by and helped me install the new top. Well in reality, I watched Fred do all the work. It was really pretty easy... watching, that is. Hardest thing I had to do is order the pizza. Fred did a superb job and the car looks great. Just got to get the trim back on and it will look really good. Thanks a bunch Fred!!!!!
How many projects do you have going on, Dennis? I know you were working on a drop-top a few years ago. How's that coming along? Four door Mavs SHOULD have vinyl roofs, I believe. Nice! (and why is there so much blank space below my text? :confusedashell: )
Well, lest see. Currently working on the Comet GT and the 4 door. The 4 door doesn't really need much, just little odds and ends here and there. The GT is a full resto project. Just got the heat/ac system in today. Besides those 2, I have the 57 Ranchwagon with a 93 Lincoln drive train already installed, 57 Ranchero with a 93 Mustang drive train already installed, the Maverick convertible which already has the top in place, and my 71 which is a driver, but needs a paint job bad. Dont know what I'm going to do with that one. Plus I have the cyclops tail light which needs to get installed in one of my cars. Too many projects and not enough time. Unfortunately the Lottery has not been kind so I'll keep plucking away at them.
