I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a manual brake rod for my car. I don't know if thats the correct name for it but I'm sure most people know what I'm talking about. From reading previous posts on the forums I get the impression that there are two diffrent sizes of rods and that I currently have a power brake rod in my car because my pedal is set quite high and doesn't work very well.

So I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get one of these shorter manual brake rods. or if they're hard to find. If anyone has one they are willing to part with I'd trade them some green slips of paper(cash).

    Thanks for the help

They usually come with a master cylinder. If all else fails, you could buy a new one.

First of all, I doubt that you have a "power brake rod" if your pedal is extremely high. If you use a standard '75-'77 manual disc brake pushrod on '74 and older Mavericks/Comets, the pedal will be much too high. '75-'77 models utilize a different bracket assembly for the brake pedal, and it does not interchange with '74 and older models without modification. Same with the brake pedal. Simply use a shorter push-rod, or an adjustable one. Stock ones come with a new master cylinder (some actually come with two rods, each a different length). Since new master cylinders for these cars are only about $25.00, you might as well just buy the whole thing...
