I just purchased a new spoiler from MAS and it is not even close to fitting. Does anyone know if there was more than one front Valance on a 73 or did I just receive the wrong spoiler?

Only one valance for 73 and it is a one year only piece.
I have a MAS spoiler on mine, we had to start in the middle and work our way out.

I have used several of these MAS spoilers. They have never fit flush right out of the box as you would like them to. Like Allan said, you have to find a starting point in the middle. Drill and install the center screw. I then slowly work my way outward from side to side drilling and installing a screw about every 8 inches. The valance panel will move quite a bit and will fit better than you think when you get finished. I never did get one to fit real well at the sides though.
    Good luck...you'll need it. (y)

when you installed it did you remove the valance from the car or did you install it in place

I've always installed it in place. I believe it would be much more difficult to do off the car

THe 73 valance is different than the 70-72. Unless they have one specifically for the 73, it's not going to fit.

have installed three of them (all MAS) each one was installed off the car on a work bench, used # 10 screws and nuts with lock washers topped with acron nuts. used clamps to hold it in place, drilled center first, then outward one side at a time, all came out just fine!I'm on the road right now, (Richmond, VA.) will be home late Tuesday, e-mail me and I'll try and send you some pics.

When I got mine from MAS they said it only would fit 70-72. I would check with them again and find out. GOOD LUCK!
