I have created a new forum called Maverick/Comet FAQ Builder. This new forum will allow any member to contribute and help build the Maverick/Comet FAQ. A FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) contains answers to basic and common questions. Once an entry is complete, I will move the entry from the FAQ Builder forum to the actual Maverick/Comet FAQ.

The FAQ entries do not have to be complex and a simple question with the answer will be sufficient. Everyone who contributes will be given credit and be listed as a FAQ contributor.

    Stefan,

How do we contribute to the FAQ? Currently it is empty and I see no way to add a new post.

I wanted to add an entry:

Q: How are the fuel lines routed for an I-6 compared to a V-8
A: There have been two different variations of the fuel line routing, mainly depending on engine type and where the car was manufactured. As a general rule V8 engines had the hard fuel line routed along the drivers-side frame rail, over the left front suspension, to exit into the engine compartment in FRONT of the shock tower (closer to the front bumper). Many of the inline-6 engines had the fuel line entering the engine compartment BEHIND the drivers-side shock tower (close to the firewall).

The major concern here is having a fuel line (rubber) intended for an I-6 used on a V-8 engine since it would be close to any headers or exhaust. Better to go with the V8 routing if doing an engine swap.

I know this discussion can (and has) go on for a long time, but every 6 I've seen exits in front of the tower as well.
