ok, it been a little less then 2 months since i got my first maverick. Its an 70 2door with 302, c4. It been switched to the 5 lug on all corners. She's not in the greatest shape but got plenty of potential. I gotta say that im addicted to the maverick. I rush home every night to see whats new on the maverick forum, and continue my search for the maverick parts.
So far i've got front disc setup (thanks dennis), dearched rear leafs(dennis again), a new gauge cluster, bucket seats with tracks, 67 impalia taillight, and possibly a complete ssbc front and rear disc brake setup (thanks to my import car connection, yeah i had a rice burner too). In all just wanted to say i really enjoy all the maverick owners and mav talk, and look forward to a long and very expensive build. jeff

    I have Oldcaritis myself.

We all have it in some form or another. It is a disease! I have bought 3 in the past 2 months and almost made an offer on another one today.

Hey, Nick, what kind of Cats do you have?

    Soupbone,

First one was a Sprint Maverick. Then there was the Atlanta Comet GT you should have bought. Then, today, I picked a 72 Comet parts car to fill in the pieces missing on the GT. The parts car has a good 302, factory a/c setup including all brackets and compressor, and a ps unit.

I almost bought a 71 Maverick Grabber he had, good hood, original buckets, 3spd car, rust free straight body, but I am not up to another 6-7 hour one way drive again for awhile.

I am beginning to know where all the Ga. speed traps are, lol.

What's sad is that had I known my dad was interested in a rolling chassis that 72GT would be at my house or his right now. I misunderstood and thought it was a MUST to get one with an engine. That was a great buy! Can't wait to see the updated pics. :tiphat:

The blue one? I think I know the car your talking about, I would really like to have it, but dont have a way of getting it home.
I too have "maverick fever", it seems like I'm always in a never ending search for more and more. I bought one about 5 years ago to fix and two more parts cars then decided it was too far gone and then bought my pretty much mint condition 77 and it still isnt enough. I'm going to go look at a 4dr tomorrow or sunday and am still in search of a good solid 2dr body. :D

    Cole,

It is blue, with a blue vinyl top. It is a pretty basic project, but a very workable one. Came with an I6, 3spd, but has the Maverick buckets.

The owner is particular who he sells it to, though. Seems he has been jacked around by lookers on a previous car he was selling. He doesn't need to sell and can afford to be choosey.

I may still buy it if I can figure out where to put it. The barn is full of horsepower and there is no more room at the inn. With my son's 69 Mach 1 coming home soon, that makes 8 inside. But, like that show on TV, 8 is not enough !!!

Maybe someone should shoot me and put me out of my misery. They shoot horses, you know, when they get sick and diseased.

I went ahead and bought that '71 Grabber, so it's back up to Atlanta again sometime this month. That's it, no more! I think!! I hope!! I can stop anytime, like Ray said.

At least, now I will have a Grabber, a Sprint, and a Comet GT. Heck, it's only money, and life is short, ride it hard! And, I think I figured out a way to squeeze it into the barn with the others. Maybe my son's '69 Mach 1 can sit outside. Heck, he doesn't come down that often anyway, lol. Hmmmm.
