Hey guys long time no see. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what has been going on on a local morning radio station here in Atlanta. On the Regular Guys show this past week they were trying to destroy a 70 Mav. They were trying to drop the tranny. They were getting it up to speed and dropping it into park, reverse low gear, they got it up to around 50 and slammed it in park. The outcome was Machine over man. The Mav won !!... They were so impressed that they decieded to keep the mav and fix it up as the Regular Guys Show Mascott. They are looking for people who will do some work on it and get it fixed up and in return get their name or buisness name painted on the side of the car and plugged on the radio plus get some tickets for the unvailing at the Styx/REO Speedwagon concert in october. They are doing a throw off on the General Lee. Cept it will be called the Rabbi Lee . You can check it out here http://www.regularguys.com/ Take care
Cool ... I just sent them an email: FYI ... I am a Maverick Fanatic and live in Cumming, GA. I have lots of Maverick parts if you happen to need stuff for your car .... I also have numerous contacts for parts as well. Here is my website with pictures of my Mavericks: http://www.dmhines.com If you need a Maverick Expert on your Rabbi Lee restoration committee you can count me in ... Thanks ... Dan Hines Cumming, GA
This is old news about the car being on the show http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=17524 but I'm glad I'm not the only one keeping up with it. I just sent them an email volenteering to clean the interior up and do a brake job/tune up and help in any other way possible.
What if some of us GA guys got together and, as a group, offered to help them fix the car up? This may be steping over the line, but you could say we are a group representing the MCCI. Just thinking of a way to get the MCCI name out on the radio. I'd be in for it, Dan apparently would be up for it... who else?
Almost makes me wish I lived in Georgia. lol Nice web site Dan. If they look at it they might be kicking themselves when they see what the Maverick they were trying to destroy could be made to look like. clint
They now have a pic of the car up on their website http://regularguys.com/ Call me crazy, but that looks like one heck of an nice car for free... Nothing like I was expecting it to look like... So I assume no one here got picked to help with it? I wonder where they had put it that morning I went down there? We got there litterally 2 minutes after they said they were takeing that pic on the radio, and I drove right through where that pic was taken, but didn't see the car. Surely I didn't drive right past it...
