Hello Group, I just wanted to join this group.. now that i once again am a Maverick owner. My first car was a 71 Ford Maverick 2 dr, 3 speed on the floor. As a teenager, i tried everything i could to either blow up the motor or drop the transmittion so i could put in a bigger motor.... after 2 summers of totally abusing the car... NOTHING.......... drove it for 7 years.. never had a problem. NOW... my son is 15, getting his license in a year... and as i mentioned to a friend about my first car... he steered me to this car that was for sale. I BOUGHT it....... a 1972 Maverick, 2 dr, automatic, factory power steering, 200 engine that runs like a top. Our plan ( well my plan, son just wants a car ! ) is to re-do the car. Welcome aboard Kevin. I have built 71 Mavericks for both my sons...and two more for myself. Nothing like a family full of Mavericks so don't stop on just one for him. If you need any help or parts you've come to the right place.
Kevin, welcome to the board........bring your son to the roundup this year he will get all kinds of ideas lots of mavericks and a few comets to look over good way to get parts from ones out of state and save on the shipping
