That looks like the Bush Family Racing Maverick. This may be a NMCA or NSCA race. I have seen them race in both series. It's funny you said "cat-like" because the family does race a Mercury Cougar, also.

Looks like no serious body damage either. Would the roll bar keep the roof from getting damgaged (other than the scratches and shallow dents) or is the roof just THAT strong?

about a dozen years ago I was involved in a roll over wreck of a 73 mav (6cyl whatta waste of a nice car). we were going to a ski area and encountered black ice and got sideways at 50ish and dropped the nose into a ditch on the drivers side over we went.
hit the drivers front corner of the roof and landed half in and half out of the ditch on the wheels, still running the drivers corner of the roof was about 10 inches from the steering wheel with my buddy inbetween. pulled him out of the car (he lived and other then 2 months in bed recovering seems to be fine) stout little shorthorns. he has a cage in his 12 second mav

didnt look like it did tioo much damage.. i guess this is why we shouldnt have a loose suspension... the body roll was way out there..

just glad the guy is ok.. that could have been so much worse if there was a car next to him
