So, I am really interested in doing the mavstang thing with my comet. I'm thinking of buying the pro front end from Glasstek. Any thoughts on this? (As a reference point, the attached picture is of a mav pro front end) Would I be able to cut out the headlight spots and insert my current headlights? I'm pretty certain I'd have to buy blinker lights, no big deal. If I didn't buy the pro front end, what would be the parts list I would need? i.e. fenders, bumpers, hood, grill, etc... I probably won't do this anytime soon, but I've just been wondering about it lately.

Yeah, I know. I am talking about the mustang conversion, though. I just put the picture of the mav front end on there as a reference point so that you guys would know what the pro front end was. They didn't have a pic of the mustang front end.Sorry about the confusion there.

First thing you your list you will need massive bodywork skills :biglaugh:

If you look the mustang fenders are fabbed to maverick fenders to match the contour of the door and the windshield area. Also the hood is fabbed to maintain the correct cowl panel so if you buy a mustang front clip you are going to start cutting on it first thing so be prepared to do that. Also look at the body lines that are on the mustang fenders they disappear about the end of the fender the next question is to remove that completely carry it down the length of the car or do it like on the former mavstang where it is obvious that they were parts from two different cars.

Sad to say it is not as easy as bolting on a mustang front end, and please dont take offense I have no Idea on your bodyworking skills, I do know I would not even consider a project like this with my abilities, I would be afraid to screw up a fiberglass front end that I just spent a couple hundred on, and in my case I think it would be cheaper for me to just buy a mustang project that someone has already given up on. But that would not be as cool as having a maverick in the first place. It is really nice going to the local car shows around here and after wading through all the 67 mustangs, camaros, and chargers to find something as different and cool as a maverick, comet, falcon, dart, AMX, rambler....whatever.
My personal opinion (we all know the saying about opinions dont we) when I see that car is someone bought a car they didnt want and ruined it turning it into something they should have bought in the first place. :rofl2:
