i ran 15.2 stock ....302...put in an MSD ignition system and i ran 14.5 in december...thats cool....temps are down..good run...

    then i ran 14.7 14.8 14.6 14.9 ( all around 95mph)

then tonight i ran 14.6 at 95 and then i met up with mightymav at the track...he and i talked...i let him go down one trip ...after playing with timing and i ran 15.5..... took him out...played with timing again....ran 15.3...put timing back to first run....ran 15.0..... ???

anyone see the problem.....i cant run good in this car anymore... of course temps were alittle higher than december.... temps right now...2 am....80 degrees and 56% humidity....

i just want consistancy...i am going to take the car to the speed shop and have them check the timing....either i am way out...or something is broke...

also....my front axle weight is about 1600 and rear axle weight was about 1200 ........with driver....

Tempature, Humidity, Altitude, etc etc etc all come into play in racing.
Sounds like your not THAT much slower since december. Considering there is proboally atleast a 45* difference in air tempature, and the moisture in the air is different. I'd say its proboally just the weather.
    Let us know.

You didn't mention anything about a change in your 60's. If your mph's are around the same, that indicates your h.p. is about the same. If your e.t.s are going up, it might indicate you're spinning a little bit. As you are probably aware, the e.t. you save on your 60's is magnified by the time you go through the traps.

I'd also read the plugs as often as needed (turn the engine off at the end of the traps, coast to the turn-around road and rememove and replace the number one (or other) cylinder. Study that plug to determine if you're mixture is too rich or too lean, of if you're running to hot or too cold of a plug.

Sorry if you already know these things and are doing them already.

    Good luck.

here are my runs for the night

    1st run
    60 2.311
    1/8 9.554 mph 76.02
    1/4 14.690 95.30

    2nd run
    60 2.441
    1/8 10.133 mph 71.78
    1/4 15.551 mph 90.41
(this was with a 200 pound passenger)

    3rd run
    60 2.439
    1/8 9.985 mph 73.23
    1/4 15.323 mph 91.25

    4th run
    60 2.399
    1/8 9.824 mph 74.22
    1/4 15.083 mph 92.96

the best run i have ever had was
    60 2.190
    1/8 9.398 mph 76.15
    1/4 14.526 mph 95.53

i didnt check the spark plugs....and i dont know if i am rich or lean....the last time i replaced the plaugs...maybe 5 weeks ago....the old ones where a little brownish...rather than tan...and very little black at all.... the heads were ported....and they were alittle black...but not too bad at all....i am running a 600 edelbrock carb...and i have .068 x .042 rods.....i need to het it...but i dont know a bunch about tweaking and all that...i can fix anything....but to know what to tweak for power i am at a loss..i am hoping one day to get a freind that has experience in that area
