Mini meet info needed

    Well, guys, with the cruise/show season getting under way, we, meaning I and the board, need to know where your meets are going to be this year and when. This is particularly important to the state reps. There are several reasons why this info needs to get out as soon as possible.

    1) Attendance is better when people have time to plan their schedules to go.
    2) If the meet is going to be part of another organization's show, you need time to contact the organizer(s) to arrange group parking. Remember, if this is the way you wish to go, you must make arrangements for all the Mavs/Comets to be able to park together.
    3) Dennis needs advance notice to include it in the newsletter. You cannot expect him to be able to include it if he gets info last minute.
    4) As a state rep, you accepted a responsibility to attempt to hold some sort of a meet yearly. If you cannot, I need to know that and if you are contacting any other members in your state to try to help and organize one. Don't be afraid to ask other members for help. We're a family.
    5) If you want the loan of the club banner, you need to get the date of the meet to Craig well in advance so he can get it to you. You have the responsibility to ship it back immediately after the event so it can go to the next meet in a timely fashion. Also, ask him for a quantity of membership apps. Recruitment is important and another responsibility of the reps, even though it is good for all of us to try to get new members and many do.
    6) I need to get dash plaques to you. If I don't know when the meet is and how many you need, I can't get them to you.

    We fully realize that this year is a bit different with gas prices at a record high and many have to evaluate what they may be doing this year. I know I do. If any of you have any problems with putting together a mini meet this year, please let me know. Also, if any of the reps feel for whatever reason that they cannot function within the responsibility of the position, I'd like to hear from you. There is no shame if you cannot set up meets because of work/family/financial responsibilities. We need to see if other members in your state can, though, because it is important to keep the club active. I'm sure nobody could disagree with this.

    I'd really like to hear from you guys soon by e-mail rather than PMs. Also, if any need any help in any way with organizing your meets or whatever, let me know also. Between all of us, we can make 2005 another great year for MCCI.(y)
