pretty much finished my engine compartment today:bananaman . here is a before and after picture. thanks to scooper (scott) for the intake . special thanks to rick book who lit a fire under me to get this car done . he worked on it with me in the very hot garage with only a fan. i do not have ac in my garage like some of you . i am very pleased with how it turned out. yes, i am getting a new battery
Yup, youd be surprised what $5.00 at the car wash will do to an engine bay That looks good Fan! Those bars sure stand out... Can't make out what's on them, are they painted? I sure wish time would slow down for me, seems like an eternity when I was going to get with you to get some. Still going to, just don't know when yet. How much more do you have to go? You going to the Texas meet?
me and rick book went around the block in it today. just need a couple of new tires, get a wheel fixed, and little odd and ends. if everything works out i will be going to the meet in waco.
Looks great, Ed - even better in person. I got there this morning ('at the crack of 9') and Ed had already installed the new rear shocks and put on new rear brakes shoes. We also installed new shocks (the others were toast). While the springs were easily accessible, we cut off 1 coil on each. I think the stance looks great with only the one coil removed. Your car is going to take some 1st Place Trophies one day, Ed! Ed's friend, Rick
Just an FYI: I see in the first picture your vacuum operated heater hose switch is loose. On a V-8 Maverick...it is to be mounted in the two holes up on the cowl just above where you have it mounted.
thats where i thought it should be mounted.i didnt want it that high so i put it lower. the original one was shot, could not find one.so i am using one for a pinto.
