Dynacorn shared with Melvins Classic Ford Parts today that they will be releasing reproduction floor pans sometime within the next twelve months.
That is good to hear, though Joe is already making them. I'm hoping front and rear small bumpers and deluxe gas caps are on the horizon!
Deluxe Gas Caps are on the horizon as well as quarter window trim and grille medallion. Yes Joe is making the floor pans currently and has done well. Will be interesting to see the difference between Joes and those stamped using a quite large hydraulic press (stamping a large piece of metal)
They are making it tough on selling used parts so I guess I will have to start finding Prius cars and part them out or batteries for hybrids. LOL. Glad to see the parts being made though
Still a lot of parts they aren't making, plenty to still be parted out. Nice to have sheet metal that can be installed w/o hammering out dents and/or grinding/treating rust issues.
That is very true...but as these cars become more popular there will be more demand. It will be awhile before they start reproducing all the small parts for these cars. So there will still be a market!
I have people asking me all the time for rear interior panels, rear sail panels, wiring harnesses, instrument clusters, etc.. I would love to see this stuff reproduced especially rear taillight lenses! Always being asked for those in good shape.
Other small items that would be nice are: 1. Side marker lights and bezels 2. Hood lip molding 3. Headlight bezels 4. 'Maverick' emblem for the Grabber grille 5. 'Maverick' emblem for the rear decklid
Good to see more metal being made for our cars! With cars of this vintage, rust is the major issue and often determines whether or not a car gets purchased/saved and money spent. I completely understand the need for the small trim pieces and things, but IMO, I think the way to go with reproduction parts is to keep going with the body panels, like the floor pans and either doors or door skins, maybe even a full lower cowl panel, or at least the patch panels. All one has to do is to look at Joe's FB page to see what people are requesting/buying. Hats off to ANYONE putting up money to reproduce parts and invest in the future of the hobby for these cars. A little competition will certainly favour the consumer. The availability of rust-free sheetmetal will make cars that were previously overlooked, potential viable projects. Aftermarket support will only help... It will now be up to US to put OUR money where our mouth is. I wonder how much of the floor they are reproducing, and what model year they are using as a template?
Side marker lights are already out there: http://www.ebay.com/itm/70-77-MAVER...24ac8cc&pid=100011&rk=2&rkt=5&sd=272612128704
this is great news. it seems our mavericks are starting to become popular. the car that everyone forgot about is about to make a HUGE comeback i think.
