I am in search of v8 motor mounts for my 1973 maverick. I have had part #2316 mounts and returned them because someone told me they were wrong. I have since read and been told they were the right mounts, but not to get the ones from autozone. So I went to orielly s website and typed in 1973 ford maverick it asked for a motor and gave me a 5.0 v8 option. When selected, motor mounts part number 4982 from trans dapt came up will these work has anyone used them? It says they are for a 73 with a 5.0?
All ford 302s are referred to as "5.0 liter", even though in reality, they measure out to 4.9. Whatever motor mounts you get; if they don't have safety anchors, they're not as good as O.E.M.
You should check out RockAuto.com. I use it to cross reference part numbers and purchasing. Great selection too. 2316 should be the correct mount for both sides. Melvin's Auto Parts sells them also.
2316 is the most named mount for our v8 application I was just wondering if anyone has used part 4982 from orielly auto just to put another part number for people to look for when trying to do their own swap. The description says they are made for my 73 with a v8. I might try them so I can see if they will work but I haven't decided yet?
What are the safety anchors you are talking about? Do you have a picture? Are you talking about the tabs on the frame mount?
I don't have a pic, but they are like little pins that go through the motor mount and prevent the motor from coming up through the hood in the event of a broken motor mount. The factory original mounts had them.
Thanks I was looking on another post and saw how to make them like that. It was called pinning I believe.
