    HiYa Everybody
Yeah it's me again with another question or so.
What is the best stuff to use for lots of grime and oil on a motor?
Is it safe to pressure wash the motor ?

    Thanxs,

I used Greased Lighting. Spray it on...hose it off. It took about 3 tries to get it clean enough. I used an old paint brush to work the soap in the greasy areas. I used brake cleaner before I painted to clean the residue. If you have really caked on grease you can use a screwdriver or putty scrapper. After washing the engine with water spray WD40 inside the distributor cap to remove the moisture. Try not to get the carburetor and alternator too wet.

Take a look at the valve cover, oil pan gaskets for leaks, and also the rear main seal and front crankshaft seals behind the harmonic balancer for leaks also. They will be the usual suspects. BTW, what part of S.C. are you from?

Thanxs Earl for your help, I will certainly look into all of what you said.
I'm actually living in TN now. I need to change this on my profile. At the time I was signing up, I did'nt pay attention to this. I moved from Greenville, SC to lobelville, TN almost ten years ago.
