I finally pulled my old engine out. I want to replace the motor mounts. Are poly-urethane mounts available for Mavericks (and if so, where)?...

I looked a few years ago.....found the poly for the tranny......but did not find one for the motor. Not saying they are not out there....I just did not find them.

Lakewood #24094 should work for you. You will need 2 - left & right are the same. If you are unfamiliar with the brand, it's a division of Mr. Gasket and available through spped shops, Summit, Jeg's etc.

I wouldn't recommend them. They transfer a lot of vibrations into the chassis, and unless you are putting out some wicked HP, rubber if fine. I still use rubber mounts on the 450hp 393 stroker with no problems.

    2 points:

1: Those are rubber mounts, just as stock. They are 12-14 bux at the local stores. Rather than 32 each for Lakewood.

2: Those are Stang mounts. Maverick mounts are unique, shorter.

Therefore they are not what he wanted, nor will they fit.

This is a Maverick mount. Notice the height difference?

Those tall ones would work nice with the 351w swap. Get it up a little for shock tower clearence. Just a thought.

The problem is that they are taller when looking at them, but they travel at an angle when installed. So they go further in for the wider Stang subframe.
On a Maverick, they end up too close together to even mate with the engine.
I hope this makes sense... Think about the angle they mount up at.

Hmmmm....something strange here as I have a pair supporting a 302 bare block in my '72 Comet GT. Now when I bought them they were in Mr Gasket packaging. There were no alignment issues. I can see your point however. I'll throw back the "shroud" and take a look.

Are there any solid or stronger Mav mounts?

So what's the consensus. Need to know because I will be ordering them next week for my V-8 transplant.

the consensus is the MAVERICK motor mounts are the only way to go properly

the mustang motor mounts woundnt work at all with the hooker 6208s cause the the #7 tube is very close to the master cylinder and i believe that the extra height could interfere w/ the master cylinder

There are 'adjustable' mounts that I would think would work...
AND they are insulated with poly...
They are supposed to adjust 1" side to side and 3" front to back.
    However they are expensive.
