My brother has run then on 7 inch rims on his mustang and they look proper and how they should sidewall bulge and such, his car runs in the 11's hes never had a problem with them but everyone's says use 8" minimum? I'm just curious because I got a set and have 7" rims sitting around that I like... Iirc his slicks don't even measure up to 10.5 but maybe it's due to the narrow rim. Just wondering if it's safe to use my 7" or is it just this brand is narrower? Thanks!

Why not just run the proper size wheel and not try to put a square peg in a round hole?

The tire manufacturer recommends what size tire, for what width rim.

just went to the site and had a look right now, says 8" rim, tires section width is 10.5, tread is only 8.3..probably why it doesnt look bad because the tread is 8.3"
so probably not safe, what would happen..the tire gets too much pressure and pop inwards on the rim?

I don't think it is unsafe, however I am not an expert on this, so it's just an opinion.

I do strongly believe that it unsafe to do the opposite, which is to put a tire on a rim that is too wide for the size of the tire.

The rim width has to do more with the contact patch of the tire. Running a narrow rim lifts the side of the tire off the pavement giving you a smaller contact patch. Not completely unsafe but gives less traction and wears the middle of the tire out quickly.

Agreed! If you are running and street legal drag slick isn't the main reason is traction? If so why don't you just run the proper width rim?

when your brother does a burn out at the race PSI does the mark on the ground equal the width of the tread... It going to work... is it the ideal size for full contact patch... thats the question..

I think for ideal contact it would be as recommended 8".. I just called them and they told me, it's safe to run with 7-9inch rims

well from my offroading background i know that you can fit 33x10.5 tire on a 7 wide rim and be safe romping through the desert lol not sure if the principal is the same but thats my .02
