I am not sure if this can be posted here or in the technical forum. If it needs to be moved moderators please do so. I think it is OK for here though.
I was wondering if any one could tell me if a 6 speed GETRAG manual trans from behind a 5.0 MT-82 2K from a 2011 Mustang GT will fit in a 1970 Maverick behind a 351W block. Also if it will bolt up using a Lakewood scatter shield. What kind of trans cross member might be needed, etc. Will these stand up behind 450 HP? I am not sure what the MT-82 2K means? Any info or input would be greatly appreciated. I am looking at going this route instead of the 5 speed set up possibly.

    Thanks

    The answer is no...

The MT-82 2k transmission uses a integral bellhousing meaning the bellhousing is one peice with the housing of the transmission case itself. So the only engine that transmission will bolt up too is a modular ford engine.

Thanks Mark, I had noticed the bell looked to be intergal in the pictures but was not sure. Thanks for the response. Guess I will just go with a Tremec 600 TKO.
I read your tech article. You did a great job with it. Thanks again.

Yeah no problem and thanks for the compliment on the article, love my TKO transmission, honestly right now I think its the strongest part of my car, I can beat the snot out of it and spin the tires, do some pretty high RPM shifts and what not and end up worried about the engine or the axle going long before that transmission.:rofl2:
