I searched the forums for some pics of Mav's with Mustang back up lights. Couldn't find any. I believe there are a few of you that have done this. Please sent or post some pics. I believe I'm gonna have to have them to pass inspection. I'm converting to the Shelby panel and tail lights.

Is the angle of the rear valance the same on the Mustang and Maverick?

Here ya Go...it's an old pic but you get the idea...you will have to notch the metal frame behind the valence just a little, they work great though and I like the look:)

    Rip, Thanks alot! Looks great.

Yes we have planned to notch the metal frame and center the gas tank to give the exhaust the same room on both sides. Right now the plan is to bring the exhaust through the rear valance and finish the cutouts with a bead and tapper it off. So I will bring the back up lamps in closer to the license plate. It will look a bit busy back there - but I'll probably do it anyway.

Since no other lights on the car are round(other than the headlights)I thought about using some '67/68 Camaro RS backup lights, they're rectangular and mounted on the valence as well.

Tim; do you have any pics of the Camaro lights? Makes sense to keep the linear theme to the back end. Thanks,

    Earl

Earl, I'm with you on the linear theme. I looked at the Camaro back up lights on ebay. I am considering these. I'm gonna try to get the measurments and maybe some good pics.

Would really like to see these on a Maverick.

L50watts; I looked up the lights at Year One, and they are really expensive. I like the ones for the '67 car the best, and I may spring for them later. Are the ones on Ebay from Year One, NPD or one of the resto houses? If you get pics, let me know. Take care,:)

    Earl

Yes, Pics would be nice!!!!!!!! I have thought the same about the use of round lights in the rear, but never even looked for an alternative. This maybe something I am interested in doing. Thanks!!!!

I can overlook the GM thing. Every aftermarket part I get seams to come from Taiwan and the real junky ones from China. A real GM part has to be better than that stuff.

Anyway, I did look at the Camaro back ups on Ebay (I think) and the pics were not good for anything. I will look at some actual pics of Camaro rears.

L50watts; we have a Year One not too far from here. I am going up there and ask to put a pair of the lights against the valence panel, and see what they look like. When I go, I will get pics.
