I have a boss 429 scoop bolted on my car now with the hood opened up making it functional but I've been thinking about turning it around for a cowl induction look... what do you think? the fiberglass scoop does have gaps between the bolts and I was thinking of using some epoxy reason to glue it on with some bolts for security but it would look better with out the bolts to give it more of a blended look... let me know what you think of my plan.
I am thinking it is your car to do with what you want. I also think it may end up looking ridiculous as cowl induction and you could probably get a fiberglass cowl hood and save the trouble.
lately since I don't have to finances to do mechanical upgrades I've been doing some paint and body work... needless to say I'm not very good at it. anyway I've sprayed some primer on the hood and everywhere else trying to get rid of some rust along with sanding bondo etc... you would be surprised how much fine rust is actually on this thing... the more I work on it the more I see... back to the point at hand, I've been wanting to do something with the hood to make it more blended, so I've been contemplating either unbolting it than epoxy it back the way it is in which case if I drive it in the rain I get to plug it with a piece of foam or flip it around and epoxy it and not worry about the foam. I now know why body shops charge so much... it takes forever to get anywhere only to realize you haven't gotten anywhere...
you should leave it the way it is I think. but for your seem less look why dont you bolt it from underneath and paint the bolts black? youll never see them. doesnt it bolt down from underneath anyway? car looks great with the scoop like that. isnt that scoop fairly valuable? will it bring enough to buy a fiberglass cowl hood? or most of the way there at least?
the scoop is a reproduction one (no value) that did at one point have bold flanges inside but they were poorly done so I removed them and bolted it on the outside...
