So I hit the junk yard again with my dad to help him find some random stuff for his truck, and then I saw it! A silver '74 mustang II. It had the nice mirrors w/remotes so I took those off and they were in great shape. Then I saw the nice set of seats in the car. I quickley ripped them off. Later in the week I bolted them in. When I drilled the holes in the floor I tried to go as far forward as possible. Now that I had the seats installed I noticed that they don't go up very far for some reason. I have them all the way up and they still are a little too far back. I'm going to try and see if the track is really dirty or something or if something is blocking it from going forward, but I doubt it. Now I'm kind of out of Ideas and need help. Are the tracks just super short, or would I have to buy some factory maverick bucket seat tracks in order for these seats to work 100%. Thanks, all opinions and comments are welcome!(y)

Don't forget to check the rear on any Stang 2s or Pintos you find!

8" rears are common in these and can often have decent gear ratios and trac-loks.
The chunks will drop right out and right into a Mav 8".

    Had one...

...I had a MII in college. The seats sit almost on the floor. Not much chance
of losing anything under them. I remember having a beer in my lap and getting pulled over by a cop, I couldn't get it under the seat and.....never mind:slap:.

Those seats didn't go very far forward. I always felt as if the steering wheel was in my stomach. The pedals were way under the dash and very short travel on the seat tracks. They were short seats too, I don't know that they would be good for a Mav/Comet.

No sport wheel, It looked a lot like the stock mav steering wheels.

The shifter was indead nice, but I really don't "need" it since I have a i6, but will most likely get it later on. If anybody is interested in it let me know.

Yeah I kind of noticed the short travel of the seat a little too late, but I think I'll make them work somehow......I just drilled the holes so I'll see what I can do... I'll keep you posted.

What does the shifter have to do with having an I6 engine?

Well nothing really, I would love to go to a floor shifter, but what I meant was since it has the i6 there isnt a clearence issue w/ the column shifter, like if it would have a 302,289 w/headers. But yeah your right, and I am really thinking about getting it. :drive:

    Selling.....

Well I am going to sell those seats probably and I think I may get some universal racing bucket seats like those on Jegs. Has anybody bought them, how do they fit? Thanks a lot guys, and If you want to buy the M II seats ( great condition except a tear in the driver side headrest) please email me at htr701@gmail.com :)

Checker has them for $140 each. I think they're cool. They have the openings for the 4-point harness. I would get them if I didn't already have Grabber buckets. Summit want's $170 each, so the Checker/Kroger deal is a good one...
