Will a mustang ii kit for a 64-70 Mustang kit fit a 70 Maverick? If not why?

No, because a Mustang is not a Maverick. The Mustang is wider. You can buy a Maverick R&P kit that fits a Maverick perfect from Rod & Custom Motorsports

I thought it was because it was wider. Thanks

The center cross member has to fit snug within the inside of both frame rails so it has to be built for that width :)
