so the mustang seats are done! cost me $175 to buy them and $350 to reupholster them . . . umm, I know, that's a lot more than I wanted to spend. So the problem now is the seats don't lock when I put the back up in an upright postition. Shouldn't the back lock? because I feel like if I break then they gonna fall forwards. Next step is to ge them installed.
My 67s seats only locked so they wouldn't fall backward. They freely folded forward so hot babes could climb into the back seat!
well I'm definitely hoping that the hot babes will still climb into the back seat . . . however, it would be nice if her puppy sitting in the front passenger seat doesn't get squished by the seat folding forward if I break hard!
the foam and the leather was ruined. The guy did it custom, didn't use covers. So is there a trick to keeping it from springing forward?
Mashori, I had a two different 67 Mustangs between the time I was 16 and 19 years old. I never did see the seat fold forward under heavy braking. Only way I see that happening is hitting a solid object, and then you've got more to worry about than the seat hitting you in the back!
I wouldn't worry about it ... there are probably a million restored Mustangs (probably more) driving around out there ... with the same seats ...
