been doing some welding this morning, putting patches behind wheelwells, filling the molding stud holes. started lining up the fenders that i got from mavgbab302. i got to either fab a lower quarter or find a decent one somwhere. thank god its probably going to be a long cold winter so ive got time . i will post pics as soon as my boy shows me how
Put an ad in the Parts Wanted section and maybe you will come up with a pair of good used cut offs. I found 2 decent quarters up in Rochester a year or so ago. The guy cut them off for me and it turned out that, every now and then, he visits someone in a town 18 miles south of me. I met him at a Route 80 exit 8 miles away and picked them up from him. You never know what you can come up with until you ask.
Did some grinding today, I'm going to start cutting the floors tommorrow. My son showed me how to do pics this morning, so I'll post some pics of the progress, how little it may be. I read Joe dirts thread today, it gave me some insparation.
Thanks, Ken I'm headed out to the garage after my liquid energy! I'm wondering if should wait to cut the bad spots, and have floor pans on hand. I think I know the answer, but I dont really want to stop as long as I have the time to do it.
Well, didn't do much to the mav yesterday. finished grinding side marker light patches and covered with fiberglass resin. Probably start cleaning feneders, prep for primer. that might be enough for today we'll see.
Looks like you have a nice garage I have mine so full of goodies that it's getting hard to move around...lol...
I'd rather have goodies!!! I'ts been too cold today, ran out of fuel for the heater so I said the heck with it for today. I went to meet a guy that I meet on this forum today. This guy has alot of nice stuff!! I think that we might be able to barter for some parts he has. Seems like a real good guy. I think I could gain alot of knowledge from the man. I'ts nice cause he's only like 30 miles from my house.
I am interested in seeing how your finished patched sections look. This is a part of my project that will get tackled come warmer weather.
Well i'ts been a while since i've posted any thing. my wife passed away in jan. and i've been consumed with all that goes with it. but now i'm returning to the mav. hopfully be able to show some progress. i was able to pick up a mercury capri with a 302ho,4 speed. that im planning to put in the mav, i have questions about ignition hook ups, any help would be greatly apreciated.
WOW That is sad news to hear. My condolences about your wife. Hopefully you can get lost in working on your Maverick to take your mind somewhere else even if for a short time. Really sorry to hear about your loss.
Thanks to all, needless to say its been rough, im just starting to think again. i think getting lost in the mav again will help. it used to get me trouble now it going to be good thererpy.
