my 74 maverick

    I ran my car at the drag strip. It ran 1/8 7.99 90mph
    . It has 349 10-1 comp. Has eldbroock rpm heads p p cross wind intake with 750 vac sec. C4 3000 tci con. With 389 ,9inch with nitto drag radials.I have sub frame connectors. 90/10 summit front skocks.I tried 750 dp do ran 799at 90 miles an hour,1/8.12.31 110 mph in 1/4.With vac secondary it ran 7.85 90.0 mph. 1/8 12.35 at 95 mph in 1/4.If I can get it hook maybe I can get a750 in 1/8 and high. 11,s. Any help would be appreciated.

    750 cfm is too big for that motor. thats why it ran better with the vac secondary. the secondaries never opened all the way. a 650 holley dp hp series should run really well on that motor.
    did you get any tire spin or wheel hop when you launched?
    you do say if you can get it to hook, so ill take it that it peeled.
    what was your air pressure?
    get some caltracs bars. they really help with traction. usually its spring wrap that causes the tire spin. that is exactly what caltracs helps control.

    also what rpm are you shifting at and whats the cam specs?

    I have traction bars on it. I am shfting at 6500. had air pressures at 16psi. It spun with both carbs thought most of low gear. I have a modifed 600 dp. cam is comp retro hyd roller 232/240 0.566 0.576 108 cl

    what type of traction bars?
    try dropping the air pressure by 2 psi each run till it hooks or till you get to 10 psi.
    is the track prepped well?
