My buddy just bought a '11 Mustang 5.0. Gonna come over and see if mav will beat it.

We have been bench racing all day and aren't sure which way it will go. So he will come over and we will just try it out and see.

Of course, he needs to convince the wife to get up and come, so it may be a couple days before we actually get to try it.

I might convince him to meet me at the track and try them both out side by side on the 1/8th.

You got the weight advantage, but he has the HP advantage.

Sounds need though! Remember to take the hat cam!

His is only 60 hp or so more than mine. Not sure how much more weight he has. I am at 2900 full tank, tool box, and my butt in the seat.

I think you can take him, that's a reason why I love lighter cars!

and I used the specs from wiki, so they might be wrong.

Are those HP numbers at the flywheel or at the tires?

He should be here in about 30 minutes. I won't be racing, per se. I will ride in his and let him show me what it does. Then we will ride in mine.

If we race, we will meet at the 1/8 track and get honest numbers, including reaction and 60' times we can compare.

I really just need ANY excuse to get my car back on the track. Never been run on the track with my new engine. And I have a set of slicks which may make a difference.

Mo, those are flywheel for both of us. Of course, his is an actual number put out by ford, mine is an estimate based on chassis dyno numbers.

I am debating...might be a good time for the ET Street wheels. I might get a better launch on 26" tires, not the 27-28" street wheels.

Maybe I will wait and use both at the track. Actually, I have never even driven on those slicks except to do a quick burnout in my driveway and to spin it around the block. They are so old and probably won't pass inspection.

I've seen the good drivers pull off some amazing times with street tires. Me, even with full drag tires I couldn't get a good 60' time.

A guy I work with just bought a 2011 5.0/6 speed California Special and ran it on Friday to a 12.7 with vicious rear wheel hop.
