I am so excited about my car going off to paint, that I just couldn't resist posting about it(and Jamie, 69 ina 1/2, told me that you guys like hearing updates)!!!

So... I will tell you guys my designs for the car.. and they are decided but you can still give me your opinions on them(my feelings won't be hurt)!

    1. I have decided to remove the trim that follows the body line on the side, starting at the headlights and being interrupted by the door handles....
So that trim will be removed, with the holes being spotwelded shut.

    2. The scripts will be removed on the side of the car, with those holes also being spot welded shut.

    3. The side marker lights (the amber ones in the front, and the red ones in the back) are being removed and those holes will be welded shut!

(I liked the idea, and i asked a panel of 5 Old Car Guys(a wide variety of cars are owned by these guys) and 4 out of 5 of them said to remove the trim and the scripts, and the side marker lights; Apparently we all have watched Overhaulin' a few too many times, cuz this is what Foose always does)

    4. I wll be keeping the rocker panel trim, because I don't feel that it interupts any body lines. I will decide later if I want to keep the wheel well trim....

    5. I will be adding a grabber spoiler onto the car...

Finally... the colors that will be involved:
The main body color will be black.

The tail light panel will be painted red, and the tail light bezels wll be painted black!
I am going to be powder coating the bumpers shiney black, just to make the car a little different!

    Alright guys,
I am done with all my talking, but I just couldn't stand holding all of this excitement inside!!!!

Yup.. Although I will be going to a Summer camp with my youth group from church.. so i will be gone all of next week.
For the rest of the time(it is estimated to take about a month) I plan to go down there at least 2 to 3 times per week and just go check on it.. and TAKE PICTURES!

My first car, i have had it for 12 years.
good call on losing the trim and script, i saw a couple with shaved drip edge molding and they look hot, i am going to lose mine when i repaint.

i got rid of all the trim and had the holes welded up on mine also. i think it looks a lot better that way. haven't gotten too carried away with the paint as it's a race car not a show car. when i get the sprint done i'll get a good paint job on it. i have a friend that paints and he just reshot mine in metallic blue. looking forward to seeing how that color combo goes and the bumpers. sounds neat.:)
